THE CAT CAPER 5K is a run/walk fundraiser benefiting The Cat Welfare Association. A festive annual event with a raffle & vendors, the 18th annual Cat Caper 5k will draw hundreds of participants. Details after the first of the year. If you want to sleep in, or simply attend the post-race raffle, sign up as a CATNAPPER! Support CWA by yawning & stretching cat-like. Catnappers get the nifty race t-shirt without running or walking the course.

If you just got a new pet, or your pets are due for their vaccines, head to the Low Cost Pet Vaccine Clinic at Columbus Dog Connection held on the first Saturday of each month on a walk-in basis from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. This service does not replace a yearly examination with your regular veterinarian. An annual exam is important to screen for and prevent disease, and as a general health assessment

The trail itself is just over 12 miles in length and is a great way to make it between five parks situated across the city. Quarry Trails Metro Park is pet-friendly. Located along the west bank of the Scioto River, the 220-acre park has been described as an “urban Hocking Hills experience.” Leashed outbound hounds can explore the park’s trails, view the beautiful waterfall from an overlook, and ramble around the former quarry. Plans are already in place for the installation of a dog park at Quarry Trails.

One of the sections is reserved for regrowth while the other two are used for small and medium/large dogs. Whenever there is a conflict here, the owners are very quick to separate the dogs.
